Chacin throws 5 sharp innings, Rockies beat Reds

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Jhoulys Chacin pitched five sharp innings and the Colorado Rockies beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 on Monday.

Jose Lopez singled in the bottom of the ninth to drive in the winning run. Jordan Pacheco had two hits and an RBI for the Rockies, who have won seven of their last eight. Seth Smith also drove in a run.

Scott Rolen had an RBI for the Reds, who have lost two in a row for the first time this spring.

Chacin allowed one run and four hits. He walked two and struck out four.

Reds starter Chad Reineke pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a hit and walking one. He’s allowed one run over his last seven innings, a span of three starts.
