Fircrest — The Fircrest Neighborhood Association was awarded a $400 matching grant from the Neighborhood Transportation Safety Alliance to fund the painting of a street mural on 124th Avenue near Mill Plain Boulevard.

The mural, designed to slow traffic, will be a large copy of the Fircrest Neighborhood Association logo. The artist who will be painting the mural, Kirsten Hatfield, also painted the murals in the hallways at Fircrest Elementary School. Before the painting can begin, however, the sewer project needs to be finished and the street repaved. Hatfield hopes to begin the project by late summer or early fall.
