MIAMI (AP) — Shaquille O’Neal is inactive for Boston and Udonis Haslem will remain out for Miami, ending hopes both had that they could return from injuries for Sunday’s Game 1 of the Celtics-Heat Eastern Conference semifinals.

O’Neal has played in only one game since Feb. 1 because of a strained right calf. Haslem has been out since Nov. 20 with a ruptured ligament in his left foot.

Both are close to being able to play, their teams said.

The Celtics made one change for Sunday, adding former Heat guard Carlos Arroyo to their active 12-man roster in place of Sasha Pavlovic. Celtics coach Doc Rivers says he made the change because Arroyo knows Miami’s system.
