CASARES, Spain (AP) — Second-ranked Luke Donald overwhelmed Martin Kaymer 5 and 3 to power into the final of the World Match Play Championship on Sunday, setting up another chance to take over as No. 1 for the first time.

Donald raced to 3 up after four holes and never looked back against No. 3-ranked Kaymer, clinching the match on the 15th. He will play either Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts or England’s Ian Poulter in the final later Sunday.

If Donald wins the tournament in Andalusia, he will supplant fellow Englishman Lee Westwood as No. 1 and pick up a winner’s check for $1.14 million.

Donald extended his unbeaten streak in match-play singles to 12 matches, including a victory over Kaymer in the final of the Accenture Match Play in February.
