KAVARNA, Bulgaria (AP) — Former U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell will play Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee in the final of the World Match-Play Championship in Bulgaria.

Northern Ireland’s McDowell, who was runner-up in the event last year, defeated South African Branden Grace 3 and 2 in a semifinal Sunday on the Thracian Cliffs course.

Jaidee was never behind in his match against South African Thomas Aiken, also winning 3 and 2 to set up a final against the eighth-ranked McDowell.
