UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Forward Kyle Okposo has agreed to a five-year contract with the New York Islanders.

The team did not release terms of the deal Wednesday.

The 23-year-old scored five goals with 15 assists in 38 games for the Islanders last season. He missed the first 44 games after hurting his shoulder during training camp.

The Islanders selected Okposo with the seventh pick of the 2006 draft. He has served as an assistant captain since 2009-10. In 192 career games, Okposo has scored 116 points with 44 goals and 72 assists.
