ZURICH (AP) — FIFA sponsor Coca Cola says it is distressed by the bribery claims within the leadership of world soccer.

The soft drink giant’s comments Monday follow a statement from another long-standing FIFA sponsor, Adidas, expressing concern about the damage being caused to the sport and its partners by the corruption allegations.

Executive committee members Mohamed bin Hammam and Jack Warner were suspended Sunday by FIFA over bribery allegations in the Qatari’s now-abandoned presidential bid.

Coca Cola says in a statement to The Associated Press that “the current allegations being raised are distressing and bad for the sport” and “we have every expectation that FIFA will resolve this situation in an expedient and thorough manner.”
