High winds for Arizona-Colorado game

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — High winds ahead of a winter storm forced the University of Colorado to curtail pregame tailgating before the Buffaloes faced the University of Arizona on Saturday.

The school scrubbed a school-sponsored tailgate dubbed “Ralphie’s Corral” that features bounce houses, and a tailgate for former letterwinners was moved inside to the basketball arena.

All tailgaters were prohibited from putting up any tents.

The National Weather Service issued the high wind warning for much of the front range because of a storm moving in from the Pacific Northwest. It remains in effect until 6 p.m. MT.

Constant winds of 30-50 mph were expected during the game with gust in excess of 75 mph.
