COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri running back Henry Josey, the Big 12’s leading rusher, had surgery on his left knee Sunday.
The school said Josey tore the patellar tendon and also had tears to the medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments, but that doctors were confident the sophomore will make a full recovery. The timeframe for his return has not been determined.
Coach Gary Pinkel said after Missouri’s 17-5 victory over No. 21 Texas that he believed the injury was serious. Josey was carted off the field after a 2-yard carry in the third quarter.
Josey finished the season with 1,168 yards rushing with an average of 8.1 yards per carry and a game average of 116.8 yards.
