SAN DIEGO (AP) — Freshman Johnny Dee scored 23 points and Chris Manresa had 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead San Diego to an 89-63 victory over San Diego Christian on Wednesday night.

Dee led the Toreros (2-0) for the second straight game, eclipsing the 22 points he scored in a season-opening 66-61 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Monday night.

Manresa had his second double-double coming off the bench. Cameron Miles added a career-high 13 points for San Diego, which held a 40-22 rebounding edge.

Benji Arvizu led San Diego Christian with 17 points. Johnnie Delbene and Arturo Prieto scored 11 each.

The Hawks, an NAIA school, trailed 32-20 at halftime before opening the second half on a 21-8 run to take a 41-40 lead. But the Toreros outscored San Diego Christian 15-1 in the next 3 minutes.

San Diego Christian (0-1) considered this an exhibition.
