Balanced Detroit crushes Concordia, Mich., 113-68

DETROIT (AP) — Jason Calliste’s 19 points led six Detroit players in double figures in a 113-68 victory over Concordia (Mich.) on Friday night.

Calliste went 6-for-7 on 3-pointers and sank 1 of 2 free throws.

The Titans (2-1) got 17 points apiece from Nick Minnerath and Ray McCallum and 12 each from Doug Anderson, LaMarcus Lowe and Chase Simon.

Anderson had a double-double, adding 13 rebounds. Evan Bruinsma had 10 rebounds, and Simon had eight assists.

The NAIA Cardinals (3-3) were led by John Schaeffer’s 15 points and Rocko Holmes’ 14.

The Titans sank 44 of 79 shots (56 percent) to 27 of 69 (39 percent) for the Cardinals and held a 50-31 rebounding advantage.

Concordia kept it close early, and Detroit led just 48-37 at intermission. But the Titans shot 62.5 percent during a 65-31 second half and put the game away.
