Eastern Washington defeats Hawaii 89-72

HONOLULU (AP) — Collin Chiverton scored 20 points, Cliff Ederaine added 18 and Eastern Washington cruised to an 89-72 victory over Hawaii on Tuesday night.

Eastern Washington (2-2) used a 25-5 run midway through the game to put it out of reach. The Eagles scored 12 of the first half’s final 14 points to lead 33:29 at the break. They opened the second half with a 13-3 spurt for a 46-32 advantage with 15:27 left. Jeffrey Forbes capped the rally with a pair of 3-pointers from the left wing.

Eastern Washington’s largest lead was 83-64 after a pair of free throws by Cliff Colimon with 1:42 remaining.

Colimon added 15 points and Forbes had 14 for Eastern Washington, which made 17 of 30 field-goal attempts in the second half. Ederaine scored 14 of his points after halftime.

Zane Johnson scored 14 points for Hawaii (1-2).
