Rutgers looking for share of Big East title

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Rutgers visits Connecticut Saturday with a chance to win a share of the Big East championship.

That’s quite an accomplishment for a team that finished last in the conference a year ago and was picked by coaches in the preseason to finish eighth again this year.

The Scarlet Knights (8-3, 4-2 Big East) need some help to earn a bid to a BCS bowl, but a win would be their fourth straight and fourth in a row over UConn.

The Huskies (4-6, 2-3) lost a chance for back-to-back championships with a loss to Louisville last week. UConn needs this win and a win at Cincinnati in the final game of the season to become bowl eligible.
