Southern Illinois-Edwardsville wins 85-61

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Kris Davis had 25 points and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville cruised to an 85-61 victory Wednesday night over Robert Morris of Springfield.

Jerome Jones had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Cougars (1-4), who were playing their home opener. Derian Shaffer contributed 13 points and nine rebounds.

Southern Illinois-Edwardsville shot 61 percent from the field in the first half in building a 49-33 lead over their NAIA opponents from Springfield, Ill. Davis was 5 of 6 from 3-point range, hitting four in the first half for the Cougars.

Trey David had 13 points and Jordan Softley scored 10 for the Eagles.
