OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Washington State Supreme Court Justice Mary Fairhurst is being treated for lung cancer.

She tells KING-TV (http://bit.ly/olKgYM ) that she’s started every day for the past seven weeks at a radiation clinic, and she says she hasn’t missed a day of work.

Fairhurst previously underwent treatment for colon cancer. But early this year she was diagnosed with terminal cancer in her lung. Her last radiation session is scheduled for early November.

Fairhurst was elected to the Supreme Court in 2002, and her current term expires in 2014.

Her friends have been wearing purple bands that say “Believe in Miracles.”
