NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Bob Stoops believes third-ranked Oklahoma has learned its lesson about having a letdown after a marquee game.

His Sooners (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) followed their last game against a Top 25 opponent by putting in their worst week of practice of the season, then needed to rally from an 11-point deficit to beat Missouri.

Stoops said Tuesday he believes his players are “past that” now and understand the importance of continuing to improve every week.

Oklahoma is coming off a 55-17 win against Texas on Saturday. Under Stoops, the Sooners are 12-0 in the game following the Red River Rivalry. They’ll try to continue that perfect trend Saturday night at Kansas (2-3, 0-3), which lost 70-28 at No. 6 Oklahoma State last week.
