Downed power line partially closes SR 14 near Camas/Washougal

UPDATE: The line was cleared from the roadway around noon Thursday, and the highway is again open to two lanes, according to WSDOT.

A downed power line has reduced state Highway 14 to a single lane at South Sixth Street near the boundary between Camas and Washougal. Flaggers are alternating traffic and still getting eastbound and westbound drivers through, but the area will likely be slow for some time, said Washington State Department of Transportation spokeswoman Abbi Russell.

The fallen line was reported just before 11 a.m. Thursday, apparently caught by an over-sized truck load, Russell said. Clark Public Utilities crews are on the way to fix it, said utility spokeswoman Erica Erland. It was unclear how many homes lost power because of the incident, she said.

WSDOT crews have put a detour in place.
