MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) — Derek Carr threw for two touchdowns and DJ McNeil ran for a pair, helping Tennessee-Martin hold off Southeast Missouri 38-30 on Saturday.

Carr finished 16 of 24 with 159 yards and an interception for the Skyhawks (5-3, 4-2 Ohio Valley Conference), and Tevin Barksdale added 135 yards and a score on 16 carries. McNeil rushed two times for three yards.

Barksdale’s 64-yard run, McNeil’s 1-yarder and Carr’s 8-yard strike to Quentin Sims put UT-Martin up 21-0 early in the second quarter.

Matt Scheible threw three touchdown passes after that to help pull the Redhawks back in the game, but the final margin was as close as they would get.

Scheible was 15 of 32 with 200 yards, and also ran for 85 yards on 20 carries to lead the Redhawks (2-6, 2-4).

Southeast Missouri now leads the all-time series between the teams 14-13.
