Prep football: Bothell 27, Union 10

The Titans started well on the road, but lost momentum and fell to Bothell, ranked 10th in the Seattle Times preseason poll.

Union, ranked ninth, scored all its points in the first quarter. Trent Cowan made a 22-yard field goal, and Kaben Humphrey-Butler scored on a 1-yard run.

Then it was all Bothell.

“They did a good job of running the ball,” Union coach Cale Piland said. “Then we got behind and tried to throw. (Bothell) played well, but we are going to get better.”

Bothell’s Trent Sewell caught both touchdown passes from Austen Dahl as the Cougars climbed back into the game and pulled away.

Piland said he liked how his team started the game, but the Titans need to “get in position to play four quarters.”
