Summer weather isn’t backing down in Southwest Washington just yet.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory that is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday for Vancouver, Portland, most of Clark County, the Willamette Valley and the Columbia River Gorge.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s to mid-90s but it may feel more humid today than it has earlier in the week, a weather service bulletin said.

The weather service advises people to wear light and loose fitting clothes, drink plenty of water and be careful working or spending time outside. “Strenuous activities” should be scheduled for the early morning or later in the evening, it said.

Temperatures will be similar on Friday but are expected to rise a little on Saturday and Sunday, when highs are expected to be well into the 90s.
