RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — President Barack Obama is touting the benefits of his new jobs bill for small businesses, which he says have not rebounded from the recession as well as large corporations.
After touring a machine company in North Carolina, Obama pitched initiatives in the $447 billion plan that he says would give tax breaks to small businesses and allow them to hire more workers.
Obama says the bill would put 19,000 thousands construction workers in North Carolina back on the job. The administration hasn’t released estimates of how many jobs the bill would create nationwide.
Obama’s speech in North Carolina was his third event to promote the jobs bill in as many days.
