An early-morning accident caused southbound traffic to backup on Interstate 5 Thursday.

The non-injury accident occurred just after 6:30 a.m. immediately north of the Interstate 5 Bridge, according to radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

The crash blocked the left southbound lane for about an hour during the morning commute.

Washington State Department of Transportation cameras show traffic was backed up past the Main Street exit for several hours.

Washington State Patrol and an engine from the Vancouver Fire Department responded.
