PHOENIX (AP) — A Washington state man is among the nine people killed at the Reno air show.

KOMO-TV says the Washoe County, Nev., medical examiner identified the victim as 47-year-old Greg Morcom.

Morcom was at the air show with four family members when the 1940s-model plane slammed like a missile into a crowded tarmac Friday.

Ron Morcom Jr. tells the television station (http://bit.ly/pPZZ43 ) Saturday that his brother was killed instantly.

Ron Morcom owns Regal Air at Paine Field in Everett, Wash., and says he has been going to the air races in Reno with his father for more than 20 years. He said this was Greg’s first trip to the event.

Family friend Gene Jones tells KOMO that Morcom worked in construction and lived with his parents in Marysville, north of Seattle. Jones says he enjoyed Morcom’s humor and joking nature.
