FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson will make his debut as a starter in the Southeastern Conference when the No. 14 Razorbacks face No. 3 Alabama on Saturday.

Wilson has stepped right in for the departed Ryan Mallett through three nonconference games — competing 68.6 percent of his passes for 274 yards per game. His true test will come on the road in Tuscaloosa against the Crimson Tide (3-0).

Wilson’s first hiccup came in the second half last week in Arkansas’ 38-28 win over Troy. The junior threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown as the Razorbacks (3-0) went three-and-out four times after building a 31-7 lead.

The performance led to a tough film session for Wilson and his teammates, something Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino expects to help the Razorbacks this weekend.
