Peugeot Sport Total wins Petit Le Mans

BRASELTON, Ga. (AP) — Franck Montagny, Stephane Sarrazin and Alexander Wurz drove the No. 8 Peugeot Sport Total entry to victory Saturday night in the American Le Mans Series’ season-ending Petit Le Mans.

The Peugeot 908 had a long battle with the No. 1 Audi that ended with three hours to go in the 1,000-mile race when the two touched, sending the Audi into the wall at Road Atlanta.

The No. 10 Team Oreca Matmut Peugeot 908 Hdi-FAP driven by Nicolas Lapierre, Nicolas Minassian and Marc Gene was second, followed by the No. 007 Aston Martin Racing AMR Lola Coupe B09 60 piloted by Adrian Fernandez, Stefan Mucke and Harold Primat.

The No. 51 Ferrari F458 Italia driven by Giancarlo Fisichella, Gianmaria Bruni and Pierre Kaffer won the GTE-Pro division, and Krohn Racing’s Tracy Krohn, Niclas Jonsson and Michele Rugolo took the GTE-Am class in the No. 57 Ferrari F430.
