Tracy Adams wins on Lake Norman

CORNELIUS, N.C. (AP) — Tracy Adams won the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern Open on Saturday on Lake Norman, finishing with a three-day catch of 45 pounds, 6 ounces.

Adams, from Wilkesboro, N.C., opened with a tournament-record catch of 20-13 on Thursday, and finished with a 10-12. He earned a Triton bass boat/Mercury outboard rig valued at $45,000, $7,360 in cash and a spot in the 2013 Bassmaster Classic — provided he fishes all three Southern Opens.

Kentucky angler Bradley Roy was second at 36-12.
