Andujar wins twice to reach Casablanca semifinals

CASABLANCA, Morocco (AP) — Third-seeded Pablo Andujar of Spain won two matches on Friday to reach the semifinals of the Grand Prix Hassan II.

Andujar first defeated Potito Starace of Italy 6-3, 6-0 in a second-round match delayed by rain, then ousted fellow Spaniard Sergio Gutierrez-Ferrol 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals. Gutierrez-Ferrol had beaten Algeria’s Lamine Ouahab 6-4, 6-1 in another delayed second-round match earlier.

Andujar will next play Flavio Cipolla of Italy, who beat Benoit Parie of France 6-3, 6-4.

Seventh-seeded Albert Ramos of Spain also advanced by defeating Jeremy Chardy of France, 6-3, 6-4. He will next face Igor Andreev of Russia, who beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain, 6-4, 6-2.
