Simon reaches final in Bucharest

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Top-seeded Gilles Simon beat Matthias Bachinger of Germany 7-5, 6-2 on Saturday to advance to the final of the Nastase Tiriac Trophy.

The Frenchman, who won the tournament in 2007 and ’08, clinched his fourth ATP World Tour semifinal victory this season.

Simon will play either Fabio Fognini of Italy or Attila Balazs of Hungary, who are both attempting to reach their first ATP World Tour final.
