Motorcyclist dies in Yakima County race

MOXEE, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say an amateur motorcycle racer died after being thrown from his bike near Moxee.

Yakima County Sheriff’s office says 44-year-old Shane Donaca of Oregon City, Ore., died on Saturday during a practice run before competing in the Northwest Nitro Nationals Pro Hill Climb. He was testing his bike when he hit a depression and was thrown over the handlebars.

They Yakima Herald-Republic reports (http://bit.ly/JKv68v ) about 4,000 people attended the two-day event.
