SYLVANIA, Ohio (AP) — Refreshed from a vacation trip to the Olympics, Na Yeon Choi is back — a year late — to defend her title at the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic.
The tournament wasn’t played last year while the city hosted the men’s U.S. Senior Open. Choi captured the 2010 title by holding off a pack of unrelated Kims — I.K. Kim, Christina Kim and Song-Hee Kim — in a two-hole sudden-death playoff.
After returning to suburban Toledo for a media day a few weeks ago, she turned around and won the U.S. Women’s Open. After that, Choi took a break to visit the London Olympics.
The field includes eight of the top 10, 15 of the top 20 and 23 of the top 30 players on the LPGA money list.
