RAINIER, Ore. (AP) The Coast Guard says a crewman has fallen overboard from the Queen of the West sternwheeler while the boat was moored to a dock in the Columbia River at Rainier, Ore.

Witnesses saw the man surface once off the stern before losing sight of him about 1 a.m. today.

The Coast Guard said that the search covered about 10 square miles before it was suspended later in the morning.

The Queen of the West runs cruises on the Columbia River.
