Well, it didn’t take long for Mitt Romney’s selection of Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to fire up the Democratic demagoguery machine. We’ve already seen the attempt (with the active cooperation of the mainstream media) to drive a wedge between Romney and Ryan. At the same time, the “Mediscare” lies are already out there, and we can trust that (cue the ominous music) we’ll be hearing a great deal about Mormonism at some point. The late Saul Alinsky would be proud, but the rest of us should be disgusted at the cheap shot, class warfare tactics being employed by Barack Obama and his minions.
Fortunately, Ryan can present the facts regarding entitlement reform and spending restraint better than anyone in the country. His selection by Romney speaks volumes about Romney’s willingness to act boldly in the country’s best interests.
The debate between Ryan and Joe Biden may have to incorporate a mercy rule, but it’ll be fun to watch.
