Stephanie’s Kitten wins Lake Placid Stakes

SARAOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Favored Stephanie’s Kitten rallied to beat Centre Court by a half-length Sunday in the $200,000 Lake Placid Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Saratoga Race Course.

Stephanie’s Kitten, ridden by John Velazquez and trained by Wayne Catalano, ran 1 1/8 miles on the inner turf course in 1:48.51 and paid $4.20, $3.10 and $2.20 for her second victory in four starts this year.

The winner earned $120,000 for owners Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey.

Centre Court returned $3.70 and $3.70, and Somali Lemonade paid $3.10 to show.
