Two Vancouver men were injured in a Saturday afternoon accident on the highway between Eugene, Ore. and the Oregon coast.

Zachary Roe, 21, and Jacob Blankenbaker, 21, were treated for minor injuries and released from a hospital in Florence, Ore. after the accident, as was driver Alexander L. Moreland, 20, from Milwaukie, Ore. They were riding in a 2007 Dodge quad-cab pickup when an oncoming Toyota 4Runner crossed the center line of Highway 126W and hit them nearly head-on.

The driver of the 4Runner, Karlie Jean Hobson, 32, of Eugene, was killed.

According to Oregon State Police, the accident occurred about 1:20 p.m. as the pickup, which was pulling a trailer, was eastbound and the SUV was westbound. Moreland saw the Toyota and moved toward the right guardrail but was unable to avoid the collision.

It is not known why Hobson allowed her SUV to drift across the center line, according to a news release.

The accident occurred near milepost 9 on the highway, between Florence and Mapleton, Ore.
