Golf tournament benefits breast cancer survivors

The Pink Lemonade Project raised $24,000 during a golf tournament at Camas Meadows Golf Club this month.

The event was the first of what organizers plan to be an annual fundraiser for Pink Lemonade Project, a nonprofit supporting women who have survived breast cancer.

More than 150 people participated in the tournament and nearly 200 people attended the banquet. Men’s and women’s team got into the spirit by wearing pink outfits and wigs.

The winning team, Team Schoonmaker, with the lowest score won an evening at the Audigy Group skybox/suite at the Rose Garden and four rounds of gold at Camas Meadows.

The second place team, Team Childers, won four gift cards to the Portland City Grill and four bottles of wine.

The last place team won four rounds of miniature golf at Steakburger in Hazel Dell.
