FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Vijay Singh feels he is playing as well as he ever has. Now he just needs a win to show for it.
The 49-year-old Fijian played bogey-free Friday on Bethpage Black for a 4-under 67, giving him a share of the lead at The Barclays among the early starters in the second round. Bob Estes took bogey on the last hole for a 66 and joined Singh at 7-under 135.
Padraig Harrington, the first-round leader, was among those playing in tougher conditions in the afternoon. Harrington bogeyed his first three holes.
Singh hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since 2008, the year he won the FedEx Cup. He has battled injuries that cost him power, but now says he feels healthy and is playing as well as anyone.
