Paving of Southeast 164th Avenue from 34th Street to Mill Plain Boulevard was delayed because of issues with grinding the old asphalt surface, according to the city of Vancouver.

Private crews will finish grinding southbound lanes Wednesday through Friday, and pave between Sept. 10 and Sept. 14. Grinding of northbound lanes will resume Sept. 16-21.

Paving of those lanes is scheduled for Sept. 24-28. Most of the work will take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays, to avoid traffic impacts.

The paving work is tied to a project to improve the east Vancouver arterial, http://www.cityofvancouver.us/164thAve.

Paving is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.
