Boys basketball: Prairie 64, Aberdeen 43

At Prairie 64, Aberdeen 43 — James Phillips scored 21 points to lead a balanced attack as the Falcons led by double digits after a quarter and cruised past the Bobcats.

“We had a really good second quarter and put pressure on them and had a lead,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks. “We had a lead and kept it. Defensively, we did a good job holding them to 43 points. We played a really good first half, but the second half was not our best basketball.”

Phillips, a junior forward, scored 20-plus points to lead Prairie (4-0) for the second consecutive game. Mason Pack added 13 points and Reece Burnett contribute 11 on Monday.

Collin Nord led Aberdeen (1-2) with 13 points, the only Bobcat to score more than six points.
