The Falcons had the lead in the third quarter in this first-round game of the Surf ‘N Slam Tournament in San Diego, but the team from San Jose, Calif., had a big fourth quarter to pull out the victory.

Preston Brooks made five 3-pointers for Prairie, including four in the third quarter when the Falcons erased an eight-point lead to go up one heading into the final quarter.

Willow Glen, which was led by D.J. McCune’s 18 points, got the lead back then made 8 of 9 free throws in the final period to stretch out the margin.

“It was a little too much surf and not enough slam, I guess,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said.

Mason Pack added nine points for Prairie.

Prairie will face St. Alberta of Canada in a consolation bracket matchup at 10 a.m. Friday.
