GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Sultan Muhammad scored 21 points, making 5 of 6 3-point attempts, and Green Bay never trailed Sunday in beating Illinois-Springfield 84-43.
The Phoenix (6-7) shot 69 percent in the first half on the way to a 51-17 lead at the break. They finished at 59 percent for the game.
Alec Brown had 16 points and eight rebounds and Keifer Sykes contributed 15 points and six assists for Green Bay. Jordan Fouse grabbed 11 rebounds. The Phoenix have won three in a row entering Horizon League play, which begins Thursday at Wright State.
Regan Bruenger and Dusko Despot led Division II Illinois-Springfield with 11 points each. The Prairie Stars, who had not played since Dec. 13, counted the game as an exhibition.
