Girls basketball: Ridgefield rallies to beat Hudson’s Bay 41-37, stays unbeaten

Camas girls routs Sunset to win Lakeridge Holiday Classic

Jalise Chatman scored 11 points and Savannah Chanda added 10 as the Ridgefield girls basketball rallied from a slow start to beat Hudson’s Bay 41-37 on Wednesday to remain unbeaten.

It was Ridgefield’s closest game of the season, and the Spudders’ first game to be decided by fewer than 23 points since a 45-38 win over Skyview on Dec. 4.

Chatman went scoreless in the first half as Hudson’s Bay took a 14-11 edge into the intermission. 

But Chatman scored eight points in the third quarter and Chanda added five as the Spudders took a 27-25 lead. 

Janessa Chatman scored five of her seven points in the fourth quarter to seal the win. 

Miranda Gonzalez scored points for Bay, and Alana Stephens added 12.

FORT VANCOUVER 54, HOCKINSON 49 — Trian Clark scored 17 points and Athena Ghormley had eight of her 11 points in a pivotal third quarter as the Trappers snapped a 12-game league losing streak.

Fort held a 24-22 halftime lead, then pushed the lead to 43-32 after a 19-point third quarter. Then the Trappers held off Hockinson down the stretch.

CAMAS 79, SUNSET (Ore.) 36 — Addison Harris scored 24 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Papermakers to the championship of the Lakeside Holiday Classic in Lake Oswego, Ore.

 Reagan Jamison and Riley Sanz each added 17 points and four rebounds, and Keirra Thompson added seven assists.

COLUMBIA RIVER 66, R.A. LONG 29 — Gracie Glavin scored 20 points and Marley Myers added 17 to lead the Rapids to a league win.

Evelyn Ofstun led R.A. Long with six points and 20 rebounds. Alauna Brown was the high scorer with eight points.
