CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Joshua Clyburn 16 and William Truss 16 points apiece Tuesday night to lead Presbyterian to a 77-35 victory over Montreat.
Truss, who made all seven of his shots from the field, also grabbed nine rebounds for the Blue Hose (3-11), who never trailed and ended a four-game losing streak.
Khalid Mutakabbir scored 11 points for Presbyterian, which led 37-13 at halftime as Montreat did not score in the final 6 minutes before the break. The Blue Hose shot 58 percent while Montreat, which had four field goals in the first half, finished the game at 27 percent.
Brandon Dockery led the Cavaliers with eight points. Montreat, which plays in the NAIA and counted Tuesday’s game as an exhibition, hadn’t played since an 85-51 loss to North Carolina-Asheville on Dec. 8. The Cavaliers had 15 turnovers and just five assists.
