No. 17 Georgetown women hold off Cincinnati 65-54

CINCINNATI (AP) — Sugar Rodgers scored 19 points to lead four Georgetown players in double figures as the 17th-ranked Hoyas beat Cincinnati 65-54 Saturday.

Tia Magee scored 16 points and Rubylee Wright and Taylor Brown each added 10 each for Georgetown (18-5, 7-3 Big East). The Hoyas have won three in a row and five of six.

Dayeesha Hollins and Bjonee Reaves each scored 17 points for the Bearcats.

Georgetown’s trapping defense helped force 24 turnovers, Cincinnati’s second-highest total of the season.

Wright’s 3-pointer put the Hoyas ahead 12-9 and started a 17-2 run. Georgetown led by at least four the rest of the way.
