Former “Biggest Loser” contestant Arthur Wornum will appear Monday morning at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Vancouver as part of a free presentation emphasizing the need for preventive health screenings.

Health screenings will also be provided at the event for a fee.

Wornum, a Season 11 contestant on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”, is scheduled to talk about how he lost 160 pounds while on the show, the importance of health screenings and how to stick to weight loss goals. The Portland native will speak at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 on Monday morning at Thomas Jefferson Middle, 3000 N.W. 119th St.

No classes are being held at the school Monday in observance of Presidents Day.

Wornum’s appearance at Thomas Jefferson Middle is in conjunction with Life Line Screening, which is putting on 20 such preventive health screening events around the country this month.

Screenings for stroke, diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure and other heart-related conditions will be offered for varying fees. A single screening is typically around $60 while packages will run around $149.
