McCollum scores 24, Lehigh beats Navy 58-41

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — C.J. McCollum scored 24 points and Lehigh defeated Navy 58-41 on Wednesday night, tying a school record with 22 wins.

McCollum hit 9 of 18 from the field as the Mountain Hawks (22-7, 10-3 Patriot League) matched the 2009-10 Patriot League champions.

Lehigh shot 47.8 percent from the field (11 of 23) in the second half, outscoring the Midshipmen 28-19.

Leading 37-34 with 11:31 left, the Mountain Hawks forced three turnovers and scored nine 10 straight. B.J. Bailey’s 3 put Lehigh up 47-34 with 6:05 to play.

Bailey finished with 11 points, going 3-for-3 from long range.

The Midshipmen (3-24, 0-13) struggled in the second half going 6 of 22 from the field, 0 of 5 from behind the arc and tallying just one assists.

Navy, which lost its 19th straight, was led by Jordan Sugars with 13 points and Carlton Smith with 12.
