GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Brandon Sebirumbi posted a double-double and Furman pulled away in the second half to lead by as many as 21 points en route to a 65-55 victory over Chattanooga Thursday night in Southern Conference play.

Sebirumbi scored a game-high 19 points, 10 in the first half, and grabbed 14 rebounds — nine off the offensive glass. He helped give the Paladins (14-14, 8-9) a 30-26 halftime lead despite going a collective 0-for-10 from beyond the 3-point arc.

In the second half, Furman hit five of 13 from 3-point range, including a trey by Bryson Barnes with 3:09 left to put the Paladins ahead 65-44. Furman had lost three of its previous four games.

Chattanooga (10-20, 4-13) got 13 points from Ricky Taylor and 10 from fellow guard Rico White. Each hit two 3-pointers, but the Mocs had just one other trey. They’ve lost four straight, 11 of the last 12.
