Gaston leads Fordham over La Salle 67-62

NEW YORK (AP) — Chris Gaston scored 35 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Fordham in a 67-62 come-from-behind win over La Salle on Saturday.

The Rams (10-17, 3-11 Atlantic 10 Conference) trailed 62-61 with 5:26 left before forcing four turnovers to finish on a 6-0 run. Devon McMillian sparked the run with a steal and a layup. Gaston followed a La Salle turnover with a layup for the final margin with 35 seconds left.

The Explorers (18-11, 7-7) led 42-31 at halftime and 52-41 with 15:16 remaining. Fordham then scored 12 straight to take its first lead since midway through the first half, 53-52, with 11:49 to play.

The Rams scored nine points off four turnovers during the spurt. La Salle had 10 of its 17 turnovers in the second half, and shot just 29.6 percent (8 of 27).

Ramon Galloway led La Salle with 14 points.
