Georgia St. tops William & Mary 64-60 for 20th win

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Devonta White scored 22 points to lead Georgia State over William & Mary 64-60 on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.

The Panthers (20-10, 11-7 Colonial Athletic Association) recorded the fourth 20-win season in school history, the first since 2004. It came in Ron Hunter’s first season as head coach.

White hit five 3-pointers while Rashaad Richardson had 11 points, including three treys, and senior Erick Buckner scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

William & Mary (6-25, 4-14) led 17-16 midway through the first half before Georgia State went on a 15-0 run in which five different Panthers scored. They later led 58-45 before the Tribe, on a 10-0 run, closed to within 58-55 with 52 seconds left. White went 4 for 4 at the foul line and Buckner added a dunk in the final minute for the Panthers.

Quinn McDowell led the Tribe with 11 points.
