Maine keeps Binghamton winless 76-61

VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) — Alasdair Fraser scored 25 points and Maine defeated Binghamton 76-61 on Monday night in the America East Conference opener for both teams.

Maine led 38-20 in the first half but Binghamton chipped away at the lead and cut the deficit to 51-48 with 10:17 to play in the game. Maine responded with a 6-0 run and the lead never dipped below seven points the rest of the way.

Justin Edwards added 15 points for the Black Bears (7-5, 1-0), who have won four of their past five games and five in a row in the series.

Maine shot 49.2 percent from the field (31 of 63) while Binghamton made only 37.7 percent (23 of 61) of its shots. The Black Bears outscored Binghamton 12-2 on points off turnovers.

Ben Dickinson had 18 points and 10 rebounds while Robert Mansell added 12 points for the Bearcats (0-13, 0-1).
