Ridgefield — Families of Ridgefield rejoice. The new play structure at Abrams Park has been completed.

The structure, between the softball and baseball fields, replaces the outdated wood play structure from the 1970s. The new play structure is constructed of coated steel, plastic and other long-lasting materials. When considering a design for the new structure, one of the goals was to maintain the feel and nostalgia of the old wood structure used by so many people.

“We’re delighted with the new structure and confident it will bring as much fun and joy to the park as the old structure,” Ridgefield Mayor Ron Onslow said.
